Shannon Shy, a senior civilian attorney with the Department of the Navy and retired U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Lieutenant Colonel, shares his journey of overcoming severe obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in his keynote address at the 2010 International OCD Foundation Annual Conference. Diagnosed in 1997 during active duty, Shy struggled with intrusive thoughts, mental anguish, and suicidal ideation.
